Scott Hindley and Jake Lamb first met when they attended Blackpool and the Fylde College studying Quantity Surveying and Building studies. They both enjoyed the course and left to take separate career paths in different fields of property, but remained great friends.
Scott Hindley secured an apprenticeship at a well-known Blackpool residential and Commercial Estate Agents, he wanted to follow in his Dads footsteps.
"My dad owned and worked in his own Estate agency in Blackpool for around 30 years, experiencing both the highs and lows of the property market over those 3 decades. He used to let me tag along to the office or on viewings on a Saturday morning when I was only about 5 years old, making me feel like I was very important and thinking I was helping him out, but probably just getting in the way.
Seeing people calling into the office to book appointments to view properties or asking my dad to go and value their house and put them up for sale felt very special. I thought what he did made a difference to people – seeing them coming into the office to collect keys to their new home, happy and excited – it must have struck a chord with me as all I ever wanted to do from being young was to sell houses." Scott Hindley.
Scott worked for 3 well known Blackpool Estate Agents before Jake approached him with regards to opening their own agency. Their concept from the offset would be to look after landlords, tenants, purchasers and sellers alike – offering the same personal and professional service Scott’s dad had all those years back.
Jake Lamb went on to become a building surveyor and worked for two of the countries largest social landlords for nearly 20 years and experienced every aspect of property management.
"When I first started working I got great job satisfaction, dealing face to face with customers and clients. I soon progressed to a senior role, but I felt like I had lost the sense of job satisfaction, which I once had dealing with clients and customers, I felt like that I spent all my time doing report writing and staff management.
I had wanted to work for myself for sometime, and wanted to do something that gave me great job satisfaction and that I felt rewarded at the end of each day for what I had achieved, like I did when I first started my career." Jake Lamb.
In April 2013 Hindley and Lamb opened its doors for the first time, and they have built their agency around the following core values;
